3 Craps Bet
The 1-3-2-6 Betting System is another very popular and simple to use positive progression strategy that works well for ‘even money’ and ‘near even money’ bets at the casino.
The Free Odds bet has some weird payouts. You get paid 2:1on a point of 4 or 10, 3:2 on a point of 5 or 9, and 6:5 on a point of 6 or 8. To make the payouts simpler, some casinos are now offering 3-4-5x Odds, in whichthe payout is always seven times the amount of the Pass or Come wager, assumingthe player takes the maximum odds. According to the 3% Rule the closer the house edge for a given bet comes to 3%, the less frequently this wager should be incorporated into one's bet pattern. From this, it follows that craps players should stick predominantly to the Line bets like Pass, Don't Pass and Come / Don't Come as the built-in casino advantage for these is below 3%. If the Come Out roll craps out (with a 2, 3 or 12), the Pass Line bet loses. If the Point is rolled, the Pass Line bet remains on the table until the end of the round. The player cannot modify or remove it during the round. If the Point is rolled before a 7, the Pass Line bet pays 1:1.
It’s widely used in the games of Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and Blackjack and is popular with players of all skill levels. Beginners to advanced players use it for its simplicity and ease of execution while focusing on the other parts of the game.
The 1-3-2-6 System utilizes the following steps;
- Determine the betting unit you’ll be using based on your bankroll
- Bet 1 unit to start, if you win
- Bet 3 units, if you win
- Bet 2 units, if you win again
- Bet 6 units, when you’ve won your 4th consecutive win
- Bet 1 unit, and start the progression over again
- Bet 1 unit after any loss regardless of where you are in the progression
As you can see, there are a number of advantages to using this system.
- It weathers losing streaks by returning to a 1 unit bet after any and all loses
- By not chasing your losses, the risk of financial ruin is significantly reduced
- It is very structured and easy to follow making it easier to manage your bankroll
- It takes full advantage of winning streaks (after 4 consecutive wins, you’ll have racked 12 units of winnings)
- And it works well on choppy, warm and hot tables
Like all systems, the 1-3-2-6 System does not change the house edge (casino advantage) in the long run, but by altering the way wins and losses are incurred in the short term, gives you a good chance of leaving the casino with additional cash in your pocket.
Let’s take a look at how this system works with a $10 per unit base bet.
3 Craps Betting
Bet # Bet Amt. Outcome Net Winnings
- 1 $10 Lose -$10
- 2 $10 Lose -$20
- 3 $10 Lose -$30
- 4 $10 Win -$20
- 5 $30 Win +$10
- 6 $20 Win +$30
- 7 $60 Win +$90
- 8 $10
In the example above, we remained at a 1 unit ($10) bet after any losing bet. We used the 1-3-2-6 progression on the winning streak and after 4 consecutive wins, we reverted back to the original $10 bet.
Before using the 1-3-2-6 system, it’s recommended that you experiment and practice with it before placing real money on the tables. It’s also recommended that you double check your bankroll to ensure you’re appropriately funded to execute this system.
